Donate yearlyEveryone loves having a delicious meal but do you know that there are certain things you must not indulge in after eating your meal? These are habits you must ensure you don’t indulge in after your meal. Let’s take a quick look at this 5 habits you must avoid after a meal.
1.CONSUMING FRUITS
Yes we are always encourage to eat fruits because of its health benefits but the truth is when consumed in the wrong way then it does you more harm than good.
Taking fruits immediately after eating especially after a large meal makes it difficult to digest the fruits which can make you feel very uncomfortable. When you are unable to digest the fruits you might not get the supposed benefits from the fruits.
It is advisable to consume fruits before meal so as to be able to digest it properly before eating a meal.
2.SMOKING CIGARETTES
In case you don’t know, smoking cigarettes after a meal isn’t healthy and good. Even if it’s just a stick of cigarette, it is not okay. The fact that some smokers are in the habit of smoking after a meal doesn’t make that habit right.
It is highly discouraged not to smoke after a meal as studies have shown that even taking just a stick of cigarettes after a meal is like consuming 10 sticks of cigarettes at once.
Hence, avoid this habit after a meal to enjoy the health benefits of the meal you’ve eaten.
3. SLEEPING AFTER A MEAL
Oh my days! Most of us are guilty of this. Most times after enjoying a delicious meal the next thing you feel like doing its to sleep. Care should be taken to avoid this as sleeping immediately after eating can cause weight gain, discomfort and bad sleep.
It is advisable to go to bed hours after eating your meal to enable the food digest properly so you can also avoid all the discomfort and health issues that might arise as a result of sleeping immediately after eating.
4.TAKING TEA
Tea is definitely good for the body and can really be refreshing but consuming tea immediately after a meal its not advisable because it inhibits your body from absorbing the iron from the meal. When the body is unable to absorb the needed iron from the meal this can result in health issues such as dizziness,anaemia and much more.
5. BATHING AFTER A MEAL
Taking a shower helps relax the body and make you feel refreshed but care must be taken not to take a shower at the wrong time.
Taking your bath after having a meal is discouraged as there is less flow of blood to the stomach after a bath which makes it difficult for the body to absorb the needed nutrients in the meal.

No 3 its just me. I start thinking of my bed even before finishing my meal especially if its a delicious meal. Is that why i notice some weight gain recently.
