Importance of Hand washing

Our hands do a lot of things  every day,from eating, picking things and much more. Children loves to play and they play dirty most times.You can’t discourage your children from playing because that is part of childhood but you must teach them the importance of hand washing . Children touch and pick a lot of dirty things while playing and if the hands are not properly washed or sanitized it could lead to infections from the germs in the hand,hence you must teach your child the importance of hand washing and also doing it properly. Some children wash their hands casually but you must teach your kids how to properly  wash their hands, both the front and the back palm must be washed thoroughly with soap  after playing.

Does Your Child wash his or her hands after using the restroom? Always keep a handwash in your restroom and your child must learn the importance of using it after using the restroom. You can also get     hand sanitizer and teach them to always use it. The hand sanitizer can be used after hand wash or if it’s not possible to have a handwash the hand sanitizer can be used. Personally I love to have the hand sanitizer handy,which my kids rob in their hands before going outside to play,also after playing they wash their hands and rob the hand sanitizer. One day they asked me why I do this and I explain to them we need to kill the unseen germs in your hands.

Make sure you always have the hand sanitizer in your home,it’s another way of getting off those germs in your kids hands when it is not convenient to get a hand wash.

As a mum you should also wash your hands before cooking, when you use the restroom or whenever you know your hand has been somewhere as the kids are watching and easily learn from what they see you doing. Always remember that hand washing is part of good hygiene which leads to healthy life.
