1.Dont be pressurized into having S*x : yes a lot of people especially ladies let go of themselves on this day, as they are made to believe it’s a love day and the only way to prove their love is by spreading their legs wide.
2.Don’t pressurize your partner for gift if it can’t be afforded: Most people look forward to receiving gifts on Valentine’s day which put a lot of pressure on their partner. Don’t pressurize your partner for gift especially if you know your partner is going through financial challenges at the moment.
Gifts are never a symbol of true love so why be in the habit of requesting or expecting gifts from your partner when you know your partner can’t afford a gift at the moment. Some even take it at as a yardstick for love despite all the previous gift they have received from their partner, to them just this one day it’s what counts and matters most.
3.Don’t link the cost of the gift to your worth: whether the gift you received is expensive or not does not mean that is your worth to your partner. Getting an inexpensive gift does not mean your partner does not love you nor appreciate you.
You are worth more than any gift so don’t compare your self worth to the gift you receive. Appreciate whatever gift your partner can afford and be thankful. Don’t be an ingrate, remember it is not the cost of the gift that matters but the intention behind it.
4.Don’t assume your partner is cheating on you if he/she doesn’t stay with you on that day: It is so easy for your heart to trick you into believing your partner has someone else just because they didn’t show up nor spend time with you on Valentine’s day.
Listen to your partner’s reason before jumping into conclusions. Your partner might be very busy at work or held up in circumstances beyond his/her control. Hence, don’t make a big issue out of it. Afterall, Valentine’s day is just one day out of 365 days so you still have 364 days to spend with your partner.
Finally, as you celebrate Valentine’s day be wise and never be carried away by the moment. Remember life still continues after February 14th.
