Donate yearlyHomework is the school work given to a child to do at home and submit the next day in school. The idea behind homework is okay , which is to help a child remember what he has been taught earlier in the day at school.
Personally I do not support the idea of given a child homework, this is my personal opinion and I will explain why using my son. My son leaves for school by 7am in the morning, he stays in school from 8-2 and gets home by 4pm, by the time he gets home he is extremely tired and just wants to eat and sleep but he has an homework he needs to do, if it were one homework perhaps it could be manageable but two, three sometimes four huh? Isn’t that too much for a child that has been at the school the whole day . So when does the brain get to rest and get refreshed before the next day.
I feel homeworks should be left till weekend and children shouldn’t be overloaded with it as if the school do not want them to enjoy their weekend. Schools really need to consider the children’s age unlike during my generation where we were much older before getting into school. This days a 5years old is already in school and probably in primary two and yet this kid is overworked with piles of homework.
Well blame me if you want but sometimes I indulge my child and allow him to rest and take the homework back to school. You can’t start to imagine how stressful it is for the children to get this homework done. Instead of daily homework isn’t it better you do a daily review of the previous day work, asking questions and getting the students engaged before you start the day’s lesson. Personally I feel schools should concentrate more on reviewing previous day work before starting the new day’s lesson rather than making kids loose interest in school with endless homework.
